CHARACTER DESCRIPTION

NAME: Cerinthe (of Cerinthe Major Purpurascens, also called Blue Honeyworth)
RACE: Calanthra (a race © Private Exchange)
HAIR: Reaches about middle of the neck, and is toned from limegreen at the top of his head, to a dark turquoise at the tips.
EYES: Black and very round in shape.
HEIGHT: 165 cm
BUILT: Slender and beautiful, he is often mistaken for a girl. Not that he minds.
AGE: About 150 years but look very young (equivalent to 25-30, Calanthra lives for hundreds of years)
SPECIAL FACULTIES: He has a long tail, fins behind his ears, one on each side of the ribs, and two on each side of the tail, webbed feet and hands, purple bioluminescent markings on face, torso, shoulders, knees and tail. His hands and feet are webbed. His armpits, groin and a part around the caudal vertebra are covered with dark blue, almost black scales. He only has four toes, blue skin with markings toned from purple to pink to white on the hipbones, under his armpits, and on the tip of his tail. He also has very sharp and pointed teeth.
WEAPON: His psychic weapon takes the shape of a swarm of silver bees or a swarm of silver hummingbirds. The bees paralyzes or poisons their prey. The hummingbirds sucks life energy out of the prey, and leaves them weak for Cerinthe to take care of the rest. When Cerinthe is hurt the "stolen" energy is used to heal him.

LIKES: Reading, making people believe he's a woman, animals, tutoring, gardens, kids.
DISLIKES: Men (he find them brusque), the enemy alien race who destroys their peace.

BACKGROUND: Cerinthe belongs to an alien race that inhabits a planet that mainly consists of water and some few pieces of land. Therefore the planets inhabitants have evovled into creatures who can breath both water and air (they don't have gills). As for the Calanthra, both sexes can reproduce via eggs and same sex relationships are completely normal in their society. All Calanthra are named after a flower that they resemble and they can all use psychic weapons or powers.

However, their planet is under attack by another alien race that comes from a planet where water is a rarity. The Calanthra prefers peace but in the last 600 years or so they have had to become predominantly a fighter race due to constant raids on their planet. But since they live for hundreds of years the conflict has only spanned over a few generations.

Cerinthe grew up in a time of war and has seen many horrible things. After his two first years he became an orphan and lived at an orphanage for several years until he had enough and run away to make it on his own. An elder lady that he begun to work at became as a parent for him. She took care of him and saw that he got an education. Cerinthe was a brilliant student and, as he later discovered, also a great teacher.

Cerinthe loves kids and really does a great job with his students. Since he looks (and behaves) very feminine new students often tend to believe he's a woman ... for a week or so until the elder students can't keep it secret anymore that he's a male. So, his nickname is commonly Miss C at the school. Though none of the students have a problem with him being a tad bit ... androgynous. They like their pretty teacher. Cerinthe is not gay though, he prefers women Way over men.

ART GUIDELINES: It's okay to design new clothes for him, but try to keep them sort of feminine/unisex-looking and implement elements of the original designs (belt and silver collar should be there).
