CHARACTER DESCRIPTION

NAME: Kai
RACE: ???
HAIR: Black, middle-long, thick, worn in a bun and wavy fringe.
EYES: blue, cat-pupil
HEIGHT: 150 cm
BUILT: Thin, like a little twelve-year-old who gets to run around alot and work hard, and tanned because of his heritage.
AGE: 12
SPECIAL FACULTIES: Always wears that white mask with markings similar to Tei's face markings. Under the mask he has several markings in the face that glows whenever he does anything that has anything to do with magic. This includes talking to Tei telepathically (though they don't shine very bright when doing this)
LIKES: Tei, riding on Tei, training, running around, climbing, water.
DISLIKES: When adults don't take him seriously, cold.

NAME: Tei
RACE: Tiger
FUR: White with black stripes that end at the middle of his back, and some markings in his face.
EYES: blue, cat-pupil
HEIGHT: withers; to the middle of Kai's chest
BUILT: Muscular... ummm, he's a tiger, aight?
AGE: 7
SPECIAL FACULTIES: It's a white tiger. Tei doesn't talk, but because of Kai and Tei's special bond Tei can sometimes establish a telepathic contact between them. So he's not quite your usual tiger. He is also the mature one of the pair.
LIKES: Raw meat, Kai, lie in the shadow hot summer days, peeple scratching his ears, playing with his prey.
DISLIKES: People being mean to Kai, being called "a kyuute widdle cat".

BACKGROUND: They are from an asian/middle eastern-like country (apparantly it only exist in my head). Anyways, he wears that mask to hide something, and the only thing you can see of his face is his blue eyes peering out from it. The markings on the mask are very similar to the markings of Tei's face. It shows that they are related to each other. Tei is sort of a protector of Kai, and not his "pet". The pair of them have been sailing around the world as long as Kai can remember. Whenever Kai wants to know something about their background from Tei he gets no answer.

The part of the story that Kai doesn't know is this: As a baby he was summoned from the dreamlands by a magician with evil intentions. The sort of being Kai is, is neither good nor bad of nature. But easily controlled, and therefore could be easily used. The magician used Kai's magical powers to do evil deeds and Kai grew up by hating the old man and what he forced Kai to do. The only sort of family he had was some tigers that the magician also held, and which he had done magical experiments on. One great female took a liking to him and held him company. She also let her whelps play with him and one of them, Tei, especially became his friend. One day after yet again being forced to do these deeds Kai fled - scared. Tei followed him, since he also desired to get away from the cruel magician, and is now watching over him. On their way Kai fell and hit his head hard, and after that he couldn't remember anything except that Tei was important to him. The magician's still out there, waiting to put his hands on Kai once again. Tei knows this very well. He is likely to tell Kai about his past when they boy is a bit older. Fow now he thinks Kai deserves to live in ignorant bliss for some years.

Now Kai's a kind of a travelling pirate/ship's boy. He and Tei earn's their living on different ships, and also gets to see alot of the world that way. Also, sailing around the world you think... with a cat? Well Tei isn't afraid of water so there!

ART GUIDELINES: Kai never takes off his mask in public, or anytime else for that matter. He even sleeps and swims with it on.
