WORLD

GEOGRAPHY
On this planet there are no great seas. The earth is dominant here. Instead, scattered all over the planet are very, very deep, cater-like lakes. There is only a few salt lakes, so salt mines are very important. The north and south pole are frozen over like on our planet. All around the middle of the planet, like a belt, lies huge deserts (though with many oasis and small lakes in them).
Where there are no cities or other types of habitations, the jungles and forests take up every inch there is. They are deep, overgrown, and grow extremely fast. The northern forests mainly consist of different sorts of pinetrees and are a bit more open than the jungles and rainforests.

POLITICS
There are no countries with borders (the terrain makes it difficult to make and maintain borders). Instead the society is built up of different communities with a bit of surrounding area. Thus alot of space is "no man's land", or belong to the native and nomadic tribes.
Each community consists of an area with one major "capital" city, five bigger "under-cities", and fifty shattered smaller cities under those five (10 per "under-city").
Each capital has an elected ruler, kind of like a mayor/president. The rulers of all capitals in the world form a council. They make decisions regarding the world, based on voting. The native tribes inhabiting the forests and jungles also have leaders that participate in this council. The nomadic tribes have their own government based on monarchy.

GROUPS OF PEOPLE
- Urban people: The city dwellers. Varying ethnic and native groups. They generally tend to look African, Hispanic/Latino and Afro-Asiatic. Their culture vary somewhat, because it is often influenced by the area surrounding the cities. Lotiki's city is for example located in a more tropical area. Thus the population here tend to wear less clothing than those from the northern areas. Even a few underwater cities exist as well.
- Native tribes: These tribes tend to keep to themselves, and inhabit the forests and jungles. They tend to look Asian and live in homes built out of their natural surroundings (mountain caves, treetops, etc.) but they are almost equally technically advanced to the cities.
- Nomadic tribes: The nomadic tribes - or "freeroamers" obviously move all over the planet. Usually based on special patterns that have been followed for generations. They also have a different type of government: monarchy. They tend to look Caucasian/Nordic and travel in caravans of brightly coloured hovering wagons.
- Other: Several smaller ethic groups exist as well as "outlaw" cities that claim their own territories in remote parts of the world and stand outside of the other cities' system of democracy. In some of these cities "survival of the fittest" is the only rule that applies. Some are just home to people who look for a different type of life.

TECHNOLOGY
The technology is rather advanced. Cities have quite a friendly look with tiled roofs and balconies (no cement boxes or glass sky-scrapers). It looks slightly Victorian. Hovering vehicles (round shapes, think Akira Toriyama's designs for Hoipoi Capsule vehicles), submarines, neon signs and antennaes also fit into this picture. Landing spaces for air-borne vehicles are fitted onto the sides/tops of the buildings.
There are roads, but they are hard and expensive to maintain - as the nature quickly re-claims them. Natural trails do exist though as well as those used by generations of people and nature has partly left them be. Though they are not fit for a vehicle with wheels.
